Interesting Sighting
This morning, while on the way to a Walmart for some groceries I had the pleasure of spotting a bald eagle. It was at the side of the road with some other birds, arguing over some roadkill. Got a very good look.

Here in southeast Pennsylvania, we see golden eagles outside frequently - but every once in a while, we have gotten a good look at a bald eagle - very impressive.

I see them often on camping trips up by Lake Tahoe in the Sierras near Donner Pass. Biggest I see around home are Red-tail hawks.

Funny you mention this Fred, I just saw my first Bald Eagle of the season today. Happened to look out the window at just the right time and saw him (or her, IDK, I'm not a biologist ) just gliding by. I see Bald Eagles flying around on average once a week here after it turns cold.
Never seen one on the ground eating like you did though, I bet that was a pretty interesting sight!

Finally broke down and went to see a psychologist. She told me I just have an overactive imagination—and it really excited her. We're going sinking next weekend. Theo's AI Quicksandbox New stuff every weekend (unless life gets in the way)

I asked because you seem to be seeing the same things. Maybe the SAME eagle.

Any bird that eats meat will happily take advantage of a free meal. I've never caught a Bald Eagle in the act but have seen Red Tailed Hawks, Turkey Vultures, Crows, even Turkeys snacking on the old roadside buffet haha.
Sadly this all leads too often leads to them suffering the same fate when another car comes along. Raptors aren't designed for fast take offs. If another oncoming car startles them and they try to escape they end up getting hit by the grill or windshield.....

A few years ago, I was on vacation. I drove from my hotel to another town and saw a dead deer on the side of the road on the way there.
On the way back, two hours later, a great big bald eagle was chowing down like crazy on that dead deer. I was really surprised. I thought they hunted for food.
I am sure I could have just pulled over to the side of the road and gotten some truly disgusting close-up footage right through my front window. That eagle wasn't thinking about a thing but stuffing itself comatose. And my camera had a 16X zoom feature.
But I hadn't packed it.
(Sad sigh, I'll regret this forever)
