Anything that combines quicksand with a laugh track loses in my book. :(

As far as ripping DVD files on an older Mac... either MPEG Streamclip or HandBrake are excellent choices!

I would have said so until trying this DVD. For some reason MPEG Streamclip rejects the ,vob files, which aren't named by episode so I'm having to guess. I tried a short one which was an ident for the DVD and it came out all corrupted. :o

Anything I can try to solve this?
Oh tosh! Tanya retorted, quicksand churning,
Round her knees, then thighs, then oh dear!
It got intimate with her hips and her panties,
And squished rather funnily up her rear!

Huh... those two have always come through for me before!

The way DVDs are structured, there's not a direct correlation between .vob files and content. Depending on how they authored it, each episode could be a title, and have its own set of .vob files, or the episodes could just be stories in a single title. If the series of .vob files are all the same size except for the last one, they used the second method. If there are smaller files in the middle of the list, they used the first, and each small files marks the end of an episode.

But, as I recall, these apps both let you play DVDs, and specify either the title, chapter(s), or times to rip. You shouldn't need to be poking at individual .vob files. Grabbing .vob files from the middle of a title isn't going to work.
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

I hadn't realised that. The last time I took something off a bought DVD I was able to rip a .vob file directly from it through MPEG Streamclip without difficulties.

But my roomie had loaded something called Mac the Ripper  on our iMac which I didn't know about until asking her, as I had a feeling her laptop had HandBrake. It ripped the whole DVD to my desktop where the files will now play through MPEG Streamclip! :D

Now if you tell me what and where to look, I can see about getting that quicksand scene? :)

I know the Bionic Woman episode is a two-parter Deadly Ringer... and I think the quicksand scene is in the second part of it.

Thank you! :D I can try and set that ripping while I'm out shopping then edit the clip ready.

Silly question but is there a video section for this group that I can post it too when it's done? :?

You can't post videos directly to the forum. Because of that, it is advised to put it in an archive (RAR, ZIP, etc.) before directly uploading, or use an external filesharing site (My site of choice is mixtape.moe because of its speed and ease of use) to share the video. Not sure about the file size limit though.
* That video game quicksand collector your parents warned you about.
