I doubt that she is going to get very deep buth anyways, there is a bittorrent site called UKnova that caters to purely UK TV shows. I suggest that if some want to see it they sign up (sign ups are limited but if you are persistant it's not usually an issue, I got the casualty scene from there some time ago).

Once up, post it to youtube under some inconspicuous name and I doubt it'll ever be noticed outside the forum if the link was posted exclusively here?

The new Sherlock series is on at the same bloody time so I'll be watching that and taping Coast. It'll be on YT by tomorrow night at least.

Right! Well it wasn't a great section but I promised you I would upload it, and I really need to contribute something to this forum!
I recorded the full quality MPEG2 stream (the whole hour took up 2gb). Right now I have a really bad connection so I'm uploading a 30mb snippet of the quicksand scenes - I did leave in the quicksand introduction and the outro too. Nothing that we already know but what the hell.

In a few days I'll have a really REALLY fast internet (we're getting updated). If theres any demand for it I'll upload the full quality 120mb version to Youtube.

Hey, that was not that disappointing for me.

The actual sinking, well okay, she could think about sitting down und digging herself out with her hands, but who cares?

Seriously, one important thing they should have touched on. What would a victim do if there was no rescue team on hand to pump water in?

It's funny, but the BBC's Countryfile programme, just over month ago, had a fairly long segment on Morecambe Bay quicksand and had a woman presenter (I forget her name, but it wasn't lovely Julia Bradbury) out walking the sands with Queen's Guide Cedric Robinson (who hasn't aged in 25+ years!) and he showed her an area of quicksand and she stepped in it but unfortnately didn't linger there too long and was able to get out by herself fairly easily without sinking much.

Then later there was there was a similar orchestated rescue as this one, only this time with a male presenter who played the victim and he appeared to be in more mud than quicksand and it appeared to be in a harbour location close to shore. He was extricated in a similar fashion.

Must be "Quicksand Week" (Well Month) on the BBC!

I also used to complain about that. They always try to make an impression that a victim is doomed unless there is no rescue team nearby.

Now I think they do it on purpose. First, TV demands more drama. Second, they want to show that paying taxes is good and the funds are used on absolutely necessary things (special vehicles or hovercrafts, special equipment, skilled personnel). Third, they want to avoid hundreds of happy idiots wading in the area and trying to sink and get out themselves.

If the person stuck is one of those twits from reality TV, I wouldn't consider it a problem at all...

In fact, that could be a neat idea for a reality show to end all reality shows... take all the unpleasant but attractive looking folks who annoy us on TV and the first to escape wins. The rest, lose... call it Sink or Swim, if you must.
