Actually, I didn't discover that with boots...I discovered that with the wrong SHOES!
I have spent more time trying to work out good footwear. An early failure: Tennis shoes. They got ssssssSUCKED off my feet. I won't even try boots in certain mudpits.
Boots are not actually a part of my fetish. It's more like, I just like to try different kinds of clothing in mudpits. I have to be careful with fancy footwear as I have one foot with a problem, but know some guys like boots so I do have one pair of patent leather high heels that A) does NOT damage my foot so, therefore B) they're dedicated to mud shoots and C) they're ridiculously fashionable as opposed to practical, which is in line with my own belief that the less clothing of any kind belongs in quicksand, the more I want to see it exactly there.
My personal opinion is that fancy boots look best when there is bare leg, stockings, or snug pants showing above them. They look funny with longer skirts and pants should be snug and tucked into the boot, not hanging over them and hiding them.
Boot shoots have had a problem inherent in them, already mentioned on this thread. Feet and legs are the first to become invisible under the mire!
I have not yet managed to do a Hollywood-style traditional drama scene with my boots for that reason. Both times, there has been deliberate muddy boot play since I am still stumped as exactly how to sink very slowly in any of my mudpits, in boots, with the camera trained exactly on the sinking boots for, oh...at least three minutes -- these boots end just below the knee!
