Hey, really appreciate the legal debate here, but let's keep away from the ad hominem attacks and assume good faith. The idea of the archive was to revive works which have been "lost" from circulation and their authors no longer active, and no profit or personal gain was part of the intent. I find this discussion interesting, but this could be more constructive with a little less antagonism.

I'm not making any argument. I'm just clarifying the context in which this was started. And I'm reminding people involved in the discussion to focus on the factual debate rather than having a go at each other.

Driving traffic? That's not at all part of this initiative. Other than the occasional mention at QSF, whatever TheWolverine79 does to promote the archive will be his own doing. We don't have a links page here. This is not a portal.
Comparing previously posted stories to professionally produced videos, which are only available behind encrypted payment systems? Not a good use of time.
This project is merely a focused version of the web archives and Usenet archives that operate to this day. The fact that omissions are being offered upon request is a courtesy compared to those systems.
Honestly, if I took protecting my videos as seriously as some writers feel about their stories, I would have been historically much more active in the anti-piracy realm as I have been.
Sorry for the doses of reality. Couldn't help it.
And by the way, the stories I submitted were virtually all pre-Quicksandfans era postings, the majority of which are no longer available to members here.

How's the list coming? I know you had a glut of stories to sort and convert.
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

Hi.
I was wondering if this archive has any male stuff, cuz no offense to the ladies, but they do not float my boat, so to speak. I have some male stories but they are all pretty adult, if that is not a problem then cool.

Eventually, you will need to change the access rule. If it requires a story to gain access, then the only people to gain access will be writers. Also, in that people without access don't know what stories you have, you're likely to get a lot of entry requests that contain stories already within the archive...

Good to hear from you again! I was seriously thinking something bad might have happened to you... Well, I guess I wasn't *too* far off...

Re: The QS Archive is a failure...
Well, it seems that Wolverine79's very existence has been wiped from this board forever, which means the QS story archive is kaput as well. Just wonderful.
