I will be the first to admit I may be missing something here but I can't see what.
This link is to a story about a lunar eclipse. The text pretty clearly says the eclipse will take place tomorrow morning, but the video is also clearly describing it as having taken place this morning. The article is dated today to its not an old piece.
???

I don't see a link but from where you are it might not be visible. The moon will set over the central time zone while entering penumbra. Given the short duration of this eclipse and the mountainous terrain around Studio 588 it may not be visible to you or me for similar reasons. It should begin about 6:55 AM Saturday morning your time.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Okay I looked at it and I think we're dealing with typically superficial morning tv "journalism". It appeared that they were discussing the second such event earlier this year but presented it so poorly that it appears to be about the third one that hasn't happened yet. Fond as I am of Michael Strahan, and he's great for that job, I don't think he's much of an astronomer.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Short version is East of the Mississippi, it'll be interrupted by sunrise. West of the Mississippi you should see it all, as long as you have line of sight. Its not a very long one this time. But there will be another in September
