College-aged female fetishists?
This is purely out of curiosity. I'm a college aged male fetishist and this seems to be a site of predominately older men (at least I think so). I'm just curious to find out if there's millennial girls out there who are into the whole quicksand thing? Not looking to meet up or anything, I just wanna know if you exist lol

Re: College-aged female fetishists?
Have you ever done the experiment where you make a fake female okcupid account and post some generic clipart pictures of an attractive woman on your profile? Try it and weep. I imagine most of the women on here may not want the attention.
You can see threads on the archives where a poster presents as a woman, followed by page after page of men welcoming them enthusiastically. This doesn't happen with gender-neutral or masculine introductions. The female-presenting posters usually are never heard from again when their intro threads run their course. Some of them are actually men who want to provoke some attention for one reason or another, and abort before it goes too far; some posters appear to have been testing the waters for potential clients for quicksand phone sex and chats. Setting those aside, our actual quicksand-fixated women generally either commenced a career of lurking under a different name or left altogether.
I don't know for a fact if the relatively civil replies to these threads were the tips of icebergs made of not so nice PMs, but it doesn't matter -- many women have seen how a man's subtle and indirect display of loneliness can presage real ugliness as soon as he has her alone and thinks no one else is listening. It doesn't matter that probably most guys have more self-control than that, because the ones who don't are prolific.

I will pronounced them here but silent.
I base this on the fact that if this had been here for me when I was that age, I'd have signed up in two seconds flat. I'm female, I'm a fetishist, and I remember being that age, and there's no way I'd not have investigated it.
But I pronounce them to be small in number. Fetishism in general seems to be a mostly (but not exclusively) male phenomenon.
I prounounce them silent, and with good reasons. Not the least of these are all the aforementioned times when something shows up and tells us that it's female. The line of guys who belly up to wait on "her" don't help matters. We look at that and marvel, but not in a good way. (It doesn't happen here that much, though.)
Real women, being real people, may have a significant other of some kind. If she has one of those, she is lurking only.
Very unpleasantly, most women are afraid of rape or violence, which is a very real impediment to meeting anyone at all on fetish forums. And since we won't even consider meeting them, there's no reason to speak up.
By the way, it isn't just millenial girls who are missing. There is a big shortage of females in general here in all age groups. I've racked my brains on this one for a long time and still can't figure out how to fix it.
Is this forum doing anything wrong? Not really. I mean, there's always a certain small number of people who stay stupid stuff, but it's worse on other forums.
Now, good news. With the relaxation of sexual attitudes and the Internet, I don't think a younger female fetishist would feel anywhere near as guilty as I did. I used to think that if I told any man, I would never see him again. Um, methinks this line of thought has been thoroughly busted by the Internet.
You know what, though? The older crowd here does talk more. I don't think we're more numerous but we are more vocal. I think it's because we're still astonished that anyone else could be into quicksand!
Millenials have grown up with the Internet having everything.
It would be a weird thought (for me, anyway) to think that some college-age girls arrived, and looked at this, and didn't think it was wild enough to comment on.

Re: College-aged female fetishists?
Because I run a place with actual mudpits that people can rent to play in I am in a somewhat unique position regarding the opportunity to meet quicksand people, of any gender. I have personally met, face to face, five different persons of the female persuasion who are quicksand fetishists. They claimed to be and I am completely convinced they were truthful. I have also met, face to face, perhaps six more who played the part very well (I am not referring to models or actresses here) but who I don't believe would go in the mud except for the benefit of their significant others. Of these, four were of the age mentioned in the original post of this thread. None of them were single.
I am also very active in the quicksandfans chat room and have been, in that room and previous incarnations of it, for a long time. I'm sorta like Norm of Cheer's fame in my presence there. In that capacity I have talked to quite a few people who claimed to be female. About a third of those really are, I believe. The only evidence I can site for that opinion, however, is that of the perhaps dozen people whom I have chatted with and subsequently met face to face, 100 percent of them turned out to be as originally self-described.

I can't say this place is predominately of older men. This community is filled with everyone of all ages. And the most important thing, is that watching quicksand can make us all feel quite young with a range of emotions.

At risk of stating the obvious, this is a kink that reflect the times that spawned it.
This is not to say that younger users aren't taking an interest - but what I am saying is that due to the media of the times that spawned it this fetish is more present in older users.
Now, nothing wrong with that.
And hopefully it'll return once again as the filmic device makes a return!
As far as gender goes?
If I were actually a female poster, I would think several times before posting in general rather than 'here' specifically.
Harassment of female users is a tragic norm, much as a previous poster explained.
I'd weep for my gender - but frankly I'm a bit too old school for tears.
My hat has always been off to female posters who frankly put up with much more than they should - Nessie, Sarah Michelle and Dangergirl (?) come to mind.
Overall here though I'd say that publicly the 'idiot male' effect is not quite as pronounced.
But is that because a lot of male users here are older and have been or are currently in long-term and hopefully stable (yet fun!) relationships?

Yep...I can remember having just one quicksand friend for about a year, and taking another two years to get beyond posting stories and pictures. There was a lot of second thoughts.

I should mention that nothing terrible has ever happened as a result of me become active in the fetish. Nothing awful has even happened as a result of me taking the video plunge. If any millennial girls who have a serious interest in this are lurking here, I absolutely would recommend our community to them as a good place to explore their inner quicksand. With the proper precautions, of course.
As for the inevitable minor annoyances of existing in an overwhelmingly male community, yes, there's a certain amount of putting up with stuff, but I don't think it's necessary for women to put up with anything in silence. We don't have to chop a guy's tongue off for a stupid comment, but a bit of tactful correction often works wonders. Nine times out of ten, he just didn't know what it came off like to somebody who isn't male.

"With the proper precautions" is again one of those real-world concessions that drives the point home.
Still it is great to have a space where women can feel less-harassed than is the 'norm' for Internet fora and social media.

I just had to make one correction there.
Honestly, I haven't really had any problems with anyone on this board. I had a couple tiffs on the Deep Sinking or Wamfanmail boards, but those dealt more with people being a-holes than with perceived creepers. I've found most guys on this board to be decent and respectful, and mostly just curious about the female perspective on the whole quicksand thing. Not really being into the sexual side of the subject and concentrating on the drama/peril aspects makes me an anomaly here. I don't post much (except in the off-topic forums), but I do read just about everything that gets posted and enjoy seeing the interactions and the majority of the submissions. I'd be lying if I said I don't start a countdown whenever I see a new girl post, but the public responses I've seen have almost always been friendly and welcoming. Of course, I can't really speak for the private messages, but I hope they'd be the same.
While I do appreciate the concerns of a lot of guys here that women might be frightened away, the vast majority of women aren't china dolls, and most actually have fairly high thresholds for silliness and BS. We'll generally let you know if you've crossed a line. Just be decent people, and treat us like you're speaking to us in person rather than anonymously sending electrons through the net; if it's something you wouldn't say to our faces, you might want to dial it back before you post it.

Well, I have some really bad news, not for you, but for the guys. I do consider myself a fetishist. And the "female perspective", at least in my world, is exactly the same as the male perspective.
I either want to sink, or I want to view sinking.
What I do is frighteningly, exactly, identical to what men do, to the point where I could never figure out what I could have to say that would be enlightening.
