Just what it says; complete sequence of events from the collision to the breakup. The simulation looks like it is based on the latest available computer modeling of the sinking. The sound effects for groaning metal and compartments collapsing is chilling at best. Some very good internal work too. They really put a lot of money and effort into this

The venting steam section was good for a sleep aid when needing a nap But generally it was a good watch

Still bugs me- why in hell did the Captain order the engines reversed? The Titanic had three screws- the port and starboard screws were powered by conventional reciprocating steam engines- but the center screw was driven by a steam turbine, using the exhaust from the other two engines. The center screw was forward of the rudder also. If he'd ordered the starboard engine ahead emergency, and the port engine reversed, she might have actually been able to turn quick enough to miss the 'berg, especially with the wash from the center screw impinging on the rudder. Or just order "Hard a-port, left full rudder!" (Or did the Titanic still have a tiller? Have to check on that.) Anyway, she'd have kept steerageway. I also read speculation that if she had run head-on into the berg, it would have been a terrible accident- but it might not have sunk her.

Current theory is that the engines were placed in "STOP" which at the time, was Standard Procedure. This is backed up by survivors from the Titanic's Black Gang. Also , going Full Astern Port is a good theoretical answer, but utterly unheard of in 1912 shiphandling. And yes, the terminology "Hard-a-Starboard" while spinning the wheel to port, is indeed a throwback to when ships had an actual tiller like a dory. The terminology was altered after the accident specifically here , to avoid confusion. Only America persists to this day in Left and Right rudder for reasons that, because, or asshole, are the only thing I can come up with
Striking the berg head on is a modern conceit, with the assumption that she would be able to survive the impact better rather than shearing open her bilge. It's possible. It just doesn't happen to be in the toolbox of any mariner in existence at the time. Simply ordering Full Astern, may not have even been able to take effect before impact. It's one of those things that look good in 2016 but in 1912 its more like "are you fucking crazy??"

I've heard the head on theory too but when you look at the math.......50,000 ton ship going 20 knots hitting a solid object that had to weight at least 100,000 tons.......early 1900s era riveted hull.......nah. Half the ship would've turned into a crumple zone and what didn't would've gone down like a rock.
I think somebody did an experiment with models that proved (sort of) that if they'd left all three engines at full and just turned they would've missed it, which makes sense to me...... More engine power = more water over the rudder = tighter turn (I would think, but I've never driven anything bigger than a jet ski).
