Normally I'd not be excited however this is a pet project of Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and the Nice Guys) and it's something he himself has been wanting to do for awhile.
Sure, Hollywood swims in remakes.

But this frankly is more my kind of remake.
It's going to be set in the 1930's, be an action-comedy and be true (hopefully) to the spirit of the original stories.

The PR spin about "Savage being the inspiration for Superman" is actually quite true.
Mind you, from an age where writers and artists would glad help each other out and riff on each other, a very different time from the 'Copyright into eternity' mindset of today.

Just thought I'd mention this for the old bastards such as myself as well as for anyone who's a fan of a Bronze superman chi-punching out Nazis while keeping his hair perfect.
