Memo to the retard brigade: if a professional pilot sees something and bunts the nose down hard enough for serious neggies and bang a FA's head off the cabin ceiling? He actually fucking saw something, and didn't imagine it. And again, not all UAVs Do NOT have wings. Especially some employed by some agencies watching the border. And they don't appear on TCAS apparently. This shit will not stop until someone ends up eating one through the windshield

Not the first time a pilot has seen a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot over the lakes.

Coming from Ottawa to Toronto, they weren't anywhere near the US border- not by a long shot. From Billy Bishop it's 30 miles/48 km to the border at Niagara-on-the-lake. So if they were (as stated) twelve miles offshore, they were still well on your side of the lake.
5-8 feet in diameter sounds too small for a military drone, and the range and altitude sound too great for a consumer or small recon drone. Wish I could sit down with the pilots and show them a better version of this chart.

Precisely. And that begs the question: what's it doing there ? In case you don't get it, it didn't belong to the RCMP or CSIS. OPP uses light aircraft and generally cars don't do well under water anyways. Private drones that big are rare, and at that height , useless. Unless of course it has some advanced optics and sensors. Which you and I can no way afford. There's no flight path data given, but from what I remember of the airways, they shouldn't have been - but thats key word. If they had to divert for traffic or anything, your 30 miles reduces to zero in 4 and a half minutes. No way it was a balloon. As someone pointed out, they would have seen it MILES away. The disturbing thing is it didn't show on TCAS. And no one on radar said a damn thing. Between this, and retards thinking aiming lasers at aircraft is Kewl.... the law of probability says sooner or later, something really really bad is going to happen
