Star Wars Rogue One Exclusive Sneak Peek

Postby kham » Fri Nov 25, 2016 8:37 pm

Think it was on a commercial aired during ABC Disney, and perhaps a few split seconds of new footage. But, it does again, reinforce the fact that the T-65 X-Wing is the baddest starfighter in the galaxy

I'm liking this. This may be the best SW movie since RotJ.

In one of the simulators I used to fly, the four cannons on the X-wing could be fired sequentially for a high ROF, in alternating two-cannon shots, or all four at once for a hard hit. Should have done the latter on the AT-AT.

Also, we have never seen AT-ATs being deployed from their transports, or kneeling to deploy troops. That would be cool.

The obsessive-compulsive detail types.... tell me that the walkers seen here are NOT AT-ATs. Rather, they are AT-ACT's - All Terrain Armoured CARGO Transports. it's not entirely groan inducing, since if you look in the shot here in the new footage, you can clearly get a good look as the shot slow pans with the walker recovering from the RPG hit - the Head lacks the massive heavy blaster cannons in the 'chin' position we familiar with in the AT-AT. And since this is supposed to be at a naval base or construction facility, that makes some sense

Fell in love with the X-Wing when I was 11 years old back in 77. It was so awesome! Still the best star fighter EVER! :ugeek:

Something about the X-Wing from the very beginning, screamed that real-world sense, of It Looks Good, and It Probably IS Good

You know what I mean; you take one look at a Spitfire, or a Mustang, and you KNOW you looking at a kickass machine that can kill anything else in the sky....

At this point the Empire's been around long enough that different "model years" would exist of some common vehicles, so you could have variation in design from one to the next. I'm sure you could look at a Humvee built in the 90's vs. one made in the 00's and spot changes/improvments.
That or maybe they're optional and can be taken on/off as needed, like how you can swap missiles for fuel or sensor pods on a jet fighter.

I'm betting there's a bunch of ICS-type books just waiting for release which will detail the differences in excruciating detail... :D
