Care for a dip??? :D

Hand-drawn or CGI. If you started with a blank screen or sheet of paper, it's cool to post it here! Please note - this forum is for posting drawings, not links to external sites.

Care for a dip??? :D

Postby Qsvgitguy » Fri Sep 29, 2017 4:52 am

Hi Everybody,

As many of you know, I use Real Flow to do quicksand and other fluid effects in my movies. After years of experimentation, I found a way to make nice thick quicksand that's very sticky and coats our victim's body oh so nicely! I used what i learned to do Disappearing Act V2 and it came out really well.

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14116

The only problem, the simulations take a very long time. The good news is Real Flow recently came out with a new version of their software with a new fluid dynamics engine called Dyverso. It's MUCH MUCH faster than the old standard engine/particles. But, since its a new engine that figures out how to do the fluids in a different way, I had to re-learn how to make the particles stick to the girl's skin and stay there so she's covered by the quicksand. 8-) After even more experimentation, I finally figured it out. Check out the clip below. It's taken me over a year of trial by error to figure out how to get what you see in the clip. Hope the lady enjoys her dip in the mud!

Now that that is done, I'm gong full throttle on my next big quicksand movie! :D

Enjoy!

I'm not one much for technical demonstrations, but I would like to see this effect used in an actual movie of yours. :geek:

Now that looks very promising indeed. All those experiments ARE paying off. :)

Thanks everybody! I'm really excited that I finally got this to work. As I said, I'm going full steam on per-production of my next QS movie, and this will make it look amazing! :D

Here's the same shot zoomed in. Don't you just love how the girl's body dimples the quicksand? Is she ready for her closeup? OH YES!
