Happy Quicksand Day!
To celebrate, here's something I conjured with Sabbie's Goddess Hestia.
And let me be frank: When I saw her, she had been on my radar for a long while.
Thusly, today was the perfect excuse to get her with one of my own OCs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Pahoehoe Volcanic Range. This mountainous area is well known for its pahoehoe style of land, right down to its constant lava flows. The lands of the range, as a result, are always the same in terms of appearance, they’re unchanging. Much like the lands of the Kalahari itself. Naturally, lakes of lava are always flowing around the margins, meaning the land itself is swelteringly hot. Even so, the lava always finds its way into great craters across the range.
As a result of so much volcanic activity across the land, it seems utterly impossible for life to exist around here. But any feeling of emptiness is an illusion after all. Around some areas, life does indeed manage a precarious hold. It just isn’t seen in the deeper areas of the great volcanic range. Only the hardiest etch out a living around here and only those who can take the heat are able to explore the Pahoehoe Volcanic range without any sort of health incidents.
Salida Socrates is one such person able to tolerate the scalding temperatures of the Pahoehoe Volcanic Range. In fact, being a Fire Mage has benefited her greatly. Learning how to use fire magic has helped her build up resistance to the heat of hot areas like this. Though the sun’s surface itself would be an entirely different story, indeed. On this fine partly cloudy day, however, Salida stood upon the land of the Pahoehoe Volcanic Range, surveying the land.
Everything looked peaceful despite the constantly flowing rivers of pahoehoe lava and the bubbling craters that were consistently being filled with streams of lava, only to then spill out over the edge once the lava reached a certain threshold. But Salida did not come to survey the lava. No. She knew of huge slurry pools born of volcanic ash hidden within the depths of the Volcanic Range. And that slurry mixes with clay that could only be found in this region.
The result? A great mineral quicksand bath that can easily beautify the skin & heal the body. It may be mud, but there’s nothing quite like it for enriching the blood. But to reach it, Salida needed to travel deep into the land itself. Yet, lava raged in her path. However, Salida started her trek, undeterred by the lava flowing all around. “Phew… No normal human could be here without proper life support equipment…” She said, trekking the volcanic landscape.
“But then again… Neither could a pure mermaid…” She soon quipped. Yet Salida was of both worlds, though she handled the landscape like it scarcely affected her. Justified as this ½ Mermaid has been in such ranges before to practice her skills with fire magic. She aimed to control lava as well and to her credit, she could easily manipulate it with her magic easily already. Though her focus was the slurry pits. Not exercising her magic to play with lava.
Quite pleased with how her progress was going, Salida kept taking the route she was on, watching her footing to make absolute certain she did not fall into the surrounding lava. Then, stopping in her tracks, she almost fell over with amazement of the sight before her very eyes. “First I see Pterosaurs flying overhead here, and now this.” Muttered Salida. She spotted woman in a rather luxurious black dress, a big volcano hat, and sporting fiery red hair to match.
She seemed to be in awe with the land in her very view. “This place reminds me of my home…” The woman said. “So full of lava… So volcanic…” Salida approached the woman, her guard up & with her Felo’molorn in hand, she was ready for anything if the woman was not friendly. “You there!” She exclaimed. The woman perked up, looking behind her to see Salida. “Yes?” She asked. “Don’t you know it’s dangerous here?” Salida asks the woman right away.
“One wrong step and that lava will burn you up easily!” The woman giggles. “That’s not a problem for someone like me.” She said. Salida blinked, her weapon lowered. “What do you mean?” Salida asks, eyebrow raised. “And more importantly… Who are you?” The woman chuckles. “Allow me to answer your questions in reverse order.” She said. “My name’s Hestia, Fire Goddess of Palus.” She said. This told Salida everything she needed to know right away.
“I’ve heard about that land.” Said Salida. “My sister Aquarius talked about it at dinner one night.” Hestia nodded, before Salida smiled lightly. “My name’s Salida by the way.” She said. “Pleased to meet you.” Said Hestia, giving Salida a courtesy. “So, what brought you here?” Hestia then asks. “I’m on my way to the slurry pools further north of here.” Salida answered. Hestia looked to where Salida was headed. “I see.” She said. “So you enjoy sinking, too.”
“Well, yeah…” Salida says. “Keeps my skin looking healthy.” She soon glanced at Hestia. “Do you?” Salida asked. Hestia smirked. “Yes~.” She said. Salida blinked for a moment. She had asked that out of the blue, but she honestly did not expect Hestia to answer so casually. Nevertheless, Salida was intrigued all the same. “Please allow me to accompany you, Salida.” Hestia says. “Even though we just met?” Salida asks, eyebrow raised in deep curiosity.
Hestia looked down at Salida, hands on her hips. “I insist.” She said. Salida was quick to relent, sensing that Hestia was not hostile. “Very well then.” Salida says. “Shall we go then?” She then asks. Hestia nodded. “Lead the way, deary.” She answers. Salida lead Hestia on the path she had been walking to her destination. But as they traveled, the lava flows around got more numerous. Using her staff as a hiking stick, Salida navigated the rocky landscape carefully.
In addition, she made certain Hestia was still close behind, which she was. However, Hestia couldn’t exactly help but consistently look at the pahoehoe lava flows around the area she & Salida were standing in. Salida looked to Hestia. “Are you still with me?” She asked. “Yes, I am.” Hestia answered. “This volcanic range though…” She says. “It reminds me of my own home…” Salida wanted to ask about Hestia’s home, though she opted not to do so right now.
Save for one small bit. “Is it anything like this range?” She asks. “In a sense, yes.” Hestia says. Finally, the two reach a lake of flowing pahoehoe lava with platforms jutting upward above the surface of the lava itself. But they will not do so for much longer. Platforms like these get chiseled & melted down every day by the lava flows here until new ones take their place. Salida started to jump across the platforms, one after another, making excellent progress all the same.
But as she leapt from platform to platform, the ones she jumped on previously cracked & crumbled into the lava itself. Yet Hestia was undeterred. Lifting her dress, she actually entered the lava itself and started to trudge through it like it was nothing. As Hestia trudged through, Salida made it across the lava flow, just as the last platform crumbled into said lava. And Hestia sank no further than her butt in the flowing pahoehoe lava as she continued on through.
Salida was quick to take notice. She watched as Hestia trudged on through the lava like it was nothing. Hestia even took the time to appreciate how the lava lapped against her body, enjoying the sensation. Salida herself, however, while able to withstand the volcanic heat, can’t tolerate being in lava itself. Her body would burn all too easily. Either way, Hestia made it to the other side without incident. She then climbed out of the lava, standing next to Salida.
“I could never have survived what you just did there…” Salida said. “If you had asked, maybe I could’ve helped.” Hestia says, smiling. “It’s the thought that counts,” Salida replies. “But I pretty much prefer mud.” Hestia nodded, accepting Salida’s answer. Salida resumed her way, leading Hestia down the road Salida had been taking once more. Signs of lava began to become increasingly rare and muddy ash slurry took its place with the pahoehoe style of flow.
½ Mermaid & Fire Goddess walked & walked, trekking the landscape so precariously. Until, at last, Salida spotted what she had been looking for. The Ash Slurry Valley, hidden within the Range’s heart. The area used to be a beautiful lake until increased volcanic activity caused the water within to flow downstream into a dried thirsty land southeast, creating a vast swamp as a result. Now, the lake is all dried up, save for some rich thick brown clay hidden beneath.
The ash slurry flowing into the lakebed mixed with the clay beneath to create a most pleasant & inviting bed of quicksand wherever the slurry could reach, yet it could not get everywhere. Even so, this is what Salida had come for and upon seeing the valley, immediately removed her robes until she was in nothing more than her bikini & raced down to the lakebed. “Wait for me!” Hestia shouted, chasing after the excited Salida to the awaiting lakebed.
Salida got to the edge of the lake soon after, with Hestia coming up not too long after. Salida soon tested the layer of the clay itself, finding that the ground was stable, though enough force will inevitably drag Salida downward into its sticky grasp. Satisfied, Salida wasted no time entering the waiting clay, moving inward towards as close as she could possibly get to the lakebed’s center. As she slogged, it became apparent that it wasn’t just the clay that stirred up.
Yet Salida managed to get as far as she could before finding a terrific spot where clay & slurry met, creating a very thick viscous wellspring that just begged for someone to sink into. And before Salida knew it, she was already up to her knees in this wonderous mixture of quicksand. Remaining motionless, Salida could feel the quicksand slowly solidify around her legs. Seeing Salida settle in, Hestia entered the lakebed herself not too long afterward.
However, she decided to opt for a spot that would just take her up to her butt. Just as Salida sat down on the surface, Hestia found her ideal spot, sinking to her thighs in an instant. She soon observed Salida taking the clay & slurry mixture around her and began to rub it onto her skin. Hestia grinned at the sight. “You sure are engaging with this, aren’t you~?” She asked. “It may be mud,” said Salida. “But there’s nothing quite like it for enriching my blood~.”
Hestia giggled at Salida’s response, sinking down slowly, presumably allowing the lakebed to take its time with her. Yet Salida had already laid on her back and began wallowing on the gooey surface, stirring up more clay & ash slurry in the process. Meanwhile, Hestia touched down at her butt in the lakebed before stopping right there. Though Hestia seemed to like the lava more so, she could not deny that the lakebed’s blend of clay & slurry felt really good.
As evident when she saw Salida continue to rub it all over herself, getting at her legs, belly, and breasts without stopping. Her wallowing only added to the sensation. Not only that, but Salida also dug up more of the mixture the more she wallowed. Her legs gently bobbing up & down on the surface. Observing this, Hestia lowered herself until her hands dipped below the surface, getting them nice & goopy before rubbing the clay where her breasts are most exposed.
“Oh, this does feel good~.” Hestia giggles. “It does…~” Salida responds. Even so, Salida’s head went under as she remained laid on her back in the quicksand. Yet, she soon rose back up, her face completely coated before she wiped the clay & slurry off it & opened her eyes. Salida at that point resumed rubbing herself with the muddy mix, wanting a nice thick coating ahead of time before she thinks of fully submerging herself. Yet one thing was certain.
It was as if Salida had already begun losing herself to the mud. Even as she had started to sink once more upon sitting up. Hestia had noted that the ripples of the pahoehoe texture of the clay & slurry seemed to have a more profound effect on Salida’s body & mind compared to quicksand pits that did not. She could not blame the ½ Mermaid for feeling this way. Even as Salida’s absolute mudlark had started kicking into full gear while she sank deeper.
To add to the fun, Hestia started wiggling her hips, churning the viscous soup she & Salida were in, making muddy waves that washed over to Salida’s location, the waves lapping & washing over her body as they made contact with her body. Salida gasped upon feeling these muddy waves, and she blushed red as a beet & her breaths became short pants. Hestia giggles. “Did I push a button in you~?” She asked, her smirk unending and about to go into a grin.
“More than you think…~” She said. With this in mind, Hestia garnered an idea as she turned to the edge of the lakebed, resting her hands on the edge and putting her butt on display for Salida to see. At first, Salida was not sure what Hestia was up to… …Until the goddess began raising her butt above the surface before slamming it down onto the gooey lakebed. A wave of clay & slurry rushed to Salida and slammed into her body, pushing her down some all the same.
Unsurprisingly, Salida took what Hestia was doing with intense joy & pleasure. Sinking to her breasts soon after, Salida pretty much surrendered herself to the lakebed fully at this point. Sensing this, Hestia playfully continued to send waves of mud at Salida’s direction, making that every wiggle, every slam she provided produced one wave after another, all the while giving the lakebed’s texture more telltale pahoehoe ripples as well. And Salida was loving every second.
Though while Hestia was keen on the depth she was at, she couldn’t help but observe Salida as she sank deeper & deeper, knowing her desire to go under. Nevertheless, Hestia has churned the lakebed in her & Salida’s vicinity as best she could, watching as Salida’s breasts went under. As Salida sank to her chin, she flipped her head back. Beneath the surface, Salida rocked her body some, moaning & gasping as she submits herself to the lakebed completely.
Finally, Salida slipped below the lakebed. Though Hestia was intrigued, she wondered if Salida would be able to escape. Her answer came not long after as Salida blinked onto the edge where Hestia was. “Oh, there you are~.” Hestia giggled. “My gods that was great…” Salida said. “So were you…” Hestia smiled before exiting the lakebed herself. “Shall we do this again sometime?” Hestia asks. “And maybe get… More hands on with one another?”
Salida nods. “I’m actually strictly interested in men,” She says. “But I’m not going to say no to your offer.” Hestia nods, smiling. “I look forward to it.” She says. “But I must now bid you adieu.” Salida took to Hestia’s departure, watching as she vanished, returning to the world she came from. Salida grabbed her clothes soon after and opened a portal to her own household, stepping through it and right into the grand bathroom of her home where a nice bath awaited her.
Salida was quick to get into the hot spring to take her bath, and yet, she had a gut feeling that she would cross paths with Palus’s fire goddess again. As she bathed, Salida pondered when that might be. Yet, she could not know for certain. All that she knew that it would be within the unknown future.
