Jack Armstrong (1947 serial, M)

Postby Tim » Sat Nov 20, 2010 12:10 pm

Hi

Here's another little scene I came across, again don't think it's been raised before. (Not got Crypto's to hand).

This is a 15 part movie serial, and at end of part 8 the slow witted sidekick to Jack Armstrong, while fighting one of the bad guys, falls down a slope into a swamp. He goes stright to his neck (it is only water with a thin covering), and goes under. At the start of chapter 9, he pops back up, allowing Jack to climb down on a tree and pull him out.

There are a few frame grabs to illustrate, unfortunately not best quality copy, and the scene is at night as well.

This was referenced in a book as having a QS scene, so I was quite excited waiting to see who would be the victim. Sadly neither the sexy island princess or Jack's pretty girl (pics attached to dream over) went anywhere near it.

Cool find.

Fun fact: Jonny Quest started out as a cartoon version of Jack Armstrong.

That pretty neat... I always like seeing new ones. :) Thanks, Tim...

Now all we need to find is the Whiplash TV scene... ;)

Well, Whiplash is available on DVD here in the UK, but it is very expensive box set. And not the kind of thing we'd see on rental. If I see an affordable copy, I'd pick it up.
