I occasionally do a search for basic topics: nude mud and that sort of thing.

On those who want to play there, and it does look fun, the "black" stuff looks horrid to clean off. I messed around in a shallow pit of similiar goo some years back and it washed off easily but was just weird. Only about 8 inches deep, I had no idea what it was and the more I thought about that aspect of it decided that mud is FAR safer.

There are many places this could be, but based on the black mud, the salt deposits, and the horizon my best guess is the Dead Sea.
