Once again as a survivor of the South Tower I have to bend a moment to remember the day and my good colleagues lost at Aon so many years ago.

Charles Lesperance. Ignatius Adanga. See-wong Shum. Three of my coworkers who didn't make it out that terrible day. I still get a little maudlin this time of year, and I probably always will. The first time I visited the New York State Museum's 9/11 section, I almost couldn't force myself to walk in. Call me crazy, but every artifact there holds on to the horror of that day- you can feel it, smell it. I have never posted this before- one of my coworkers talked to her husband (who survived) before the first tower fell. She asked him what was going on, and he replied in a shaken voice "It's raining bodies." That was the choice the people on the floors above the plane impacts faced. Stay and die in a fire, or jump.

This is embarrassing to admit- I wasn't there, didn't lose anybody close to me- but I still get flashbacks of that day if I think about it too much- which I just did.

Never forget.

Let us never forget the men and women who lost and gave their lives on September 11, 2001. Let us never forget the lessons learned from that day. And, let us never forget the military men and women fighting for our freedom in foreign lands, and never forget the firefighting, law enforcement, emergency medical service, search and rescue, and airline personnel who serve today.

NEVER FORGET!!!
