Facebook jail

Anybody else ever been put in "Facebook jail"? Earlier this evening, the cat decided to walk on my keyboard. By the time I got him off, I had a pop-up message from FB stating that I was "blocked from making public comments on posts, due to having posted content flagged as offensive." Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot? (The cat on the keyboard may well have been coincidence.) And of course FB doesn't bother to tell you which post or posts were flagged as offensive, or who flagged your post. How am I supposed to not do it again, when I have no idea what I'm supposed to have done?

And please tell me if I'm wrong here, but I consider anonymously flagging someone's post on an online forum as "offensive" to be base and cowardly. Did I offend you? Then respond to my comment, or send me a PM. Or just freakin' unfriend me, or block my posts yourself!

Since that happened, I have been racking my brain, trying to figure out what I could have posted that anyone could consider "offensive." No profanity (with one or two slip-ups) no naked 'selfies', no porn links, nada. My friends on FB (most of whom I know in "real life") span the entire political and religious spectrum. I frequently censor myself, so as not to offend any of them. My Lady Wife, my daughter and her friends are part of my FB family, too. Like I'm going to post anything that would make them ashamed of me. Sigh. . .

Anyway, will somebody please send me a .zip file with a picture of a cake in it? Oh, wait, it's supposed to be a cake with a file in it.

The entire concept of banning, controlling assorted commentary is such bullshit it goes beyond the pale. People talk of not politicizing things , but the harsh reality is that, what they really mean is they want only THEIR political view of things. In the REAL WORLD , girls, that is called facism. If you are unwilling to engage in an intelligent discussion about something, and the best you got is "SHUT UP!! they explained, " then you are nothing but a total asshole, and somewhere down the line you deserve to have your face beat in, shortly before your balls are cut off with a dull razor.

Only a total imbecile thinks that politics are a static thing. What is going to be bad, is how far the pendulum swings the other way. Because as surely as the sun rises, it will happen.

NG, if the assclowns of facebook are such gentle flowers they cant handle the occasional shit or fuck, then they really are digging their own graves. If it is anything else, then they are total fucking retards who havent figured out that that sort of behavior will shortly result in the utter collapse of their network. No one HAS to have a FB account; there were things before them, there will be things after them

Facebook you would think would be wising up considering the scams that are going on in information gathering, but it seems in their arrogance they wont until they crater. Its all about the money, until it stops coming

I knew P-You Tube had its thought police, but I didn't know Faceshnook had them, too. I do know Faceshnook keeps making "improvements" that no one asked for and hardly anyone likes. I wonder if they're taking advice from the good people who keep making improvements at Yahpoo.

My older brother has been in the computer software business for 30 years, and he said a major problem in Silicon Valley are all the geeks who feel they need to justify their existence and their huge salaries. So, they keep "improving" things. They may never have had an original thought in their lives, they may be changing something that didn't need changing, and they may be making something more difficult to work with. Still, they can point to these 'improvements' to justify their salaries.

I have two words for the big online companies like Faceshnook, Yahpoo, Goo goo, and P-You Tube: MY SPACE!

I'm afraid that "Nessie" is no longer using Facebook. I never gave Facebook a real name or any actual biographical info anyway because to be honest...I think that obediently handing over personal info to Facebook just because it tells you that you MUST use your real name in order to have it at all is simply not very smart.

Why should my boss and co-workers even know where my profile is? It's none of their business. It's not only none of their business that I like to go in mudpits -- it's not even any of their business to know what I ate for breakfast today.

We have aliases here and we're not a bunch of dishonest creeps. We are simply smart enough to know better than to share too much information with people who have absolutely no need to know it.

However, I went online to Google your problem. I don't know how true this. But if it is, mysterious "Facebook Jail" now has a perfectly logical cause.

I have a hand in hiring people for my department and I can count three instances where we were going to hire someone and didn't because of something they posted on social media. The most memorable was the guy showing off the mini pot farm he had built in his closet.
