You laugh but they do make shoulder holsters that allow you to conceal that beast under a jacket or suit coat. Remember the agent guys from "The Matrix"?
I shot the .357 mag version once. Not bad but I wouldn't pay $1500 for one.

I got the impression it was using stock factory ammo, not his normal .44 reloads - which would be a bit more expensive for shooting on an everyday basis

Even the factory loads get expensive to shoot. I just picked up a 100 round box of Winchester 9mm.....$26 and change. A box of 20 .44's will run you about $35. If you're going to shoot a lot of the big cartridges reloading/handloading is almost necessary to keep the cost down. I'm thinking about buying a machine and dies for my BFR for the same reason.

I'm kind of waiting to see how things pan out over the next month or so, but winter is a good time to get the courses completed and all the paperwork filed But getting set up for a handloading bench in the basement seems common sense if you shooting a lot of target stuff, just for the cost factor in the long run.

I'm not going to say don't reload but the thing that keeps me away from it is that it's a tedious process, especially if you're reusing old brass. punch the primers, clean the brass, measure the brass, neck the brass, inspect the brass, inspect the bullets, put in new primers, measure the powder, add the powder, press the bullet.....and unless you're going to buy the really expensive machine you're going to do all that one.....round....at....a....time..... For the BFR I'll take the time because I'm only going to go through 20 of them or so before my hand hurts. 9mm? 5.56x45? Nah. I pick up my spent brass and turn it in to the recycler but I'm not going to sit there loading 200 rounds one at a time when I could be actually shooting at the range. Not worth a quarter.
