Very frustrating. Will have to come up with some better plinking targets somehow. The M1903 Springfield (.30-40 Krag, ammo way too expensive for plinking) tended to explode full soda bottles. Much more energy transfer. And of course you always have to put a 12 gauge slug into a water-filled gallon milk jug, just to watch the explosion.
