I found my old Star Trek books and other random tech manuals.

A few weeks ago, I found my old Star Trek books while digging through my closet. Those books were purchased for a dollar a piece at a used bookstore between 2004-2005. I would have been in 8th and 9th grade back then. I honestly didn't know I had that many Star Trek books! I would spend so much time in school looking at them and some times, I'd copy images from the book onto a piece of paper. I wouldn't trace the images. I would look at the pictures and try to draw them the best I could. They were all crappy drawing. I wish I still had them. I do have my crappy drawing from college! lol!

I also found the random tech manuals I bought in college. The Star Wars Technical Journal, Aliens Colonial Marines Technical Manual, and the Mobile Fighter G Gundam Technical Manual. The G Gundam tech manual actually has an interesting story. When I was little I was absolutely obsessed with G Gundam! During a trip to Waldenbooks I found a copy of the G Gundam tech manual and got super excited. It's a thin book, so I wasn't expecting it to be so expensive! There was no way in heck my Mom was going to buy it for me at $13, so I didn't ask for it. Every time I went to any bookstore, I looked for the G Gundam tech manual. It didn't matter that I got older, it didn't matter that G Gundam lost it's importance to me, I wanted that tech manual! Since that day, I never found it in another bookstore and ended up finding it for a decent price on Amazon when I was 21.

I thought someone might mind these books interesting.

The one book that is missing is "The Klingon Way: A Warrior's Guide". I know I had that one, but I didn't see it in the bin. I'm not sure if I kept it or sold it. I also have more X-Files guides than I can count and an old school Law and Order Companion, but that's a story for another day!

Keep them safe, even if for no reason other than you wanting to look at them occasionally. It could be decades before another generation of stuff comes along

Somewhere I still have an original edition of the Star Fleet Technical Manual. I think I got mine in eight or ninth grade. That would have been about 1977?

Had/have a couple of those buried away somewhere. Also a big fan of the "Incredible Cross Section" Star Wars series, some really nicely done illustrations in those.

It would be another decade, but you can easily see how much of the Star Fleet Technical Manual , influenced the SSD's for Star Fleet Battles down the line

Oh, wow! What a nice collection! I love the looks of that one with Kirk and Spock on the cover. That technical manual in the middle on the top row looks really, really familiar. That (or something like it) was in my house when I was a little kid. I remember sitting in the living room looking at diagrams of the Enterprise and trying to read it.

I'm definitely a Trekkie but it's limited to the first series. I had an insane crush on Spock. It drove me nuts that he couldn't love me back.

I enjoy hearing about other people's Star Trek crushes! lol! I had an extremely ridiculous crush on Lt. Commander Data from Star Trek The Next Generation. And, as is the case with you can Spock, Data couldn't love me back!

I also had a massive crush on Lt. Barclay from TNG/Voyager. Looking back, I don't really understand why I had a huge crush on someone with such a high level of dysfunction. lol.

I found more Star Trek goodies! I didn't want to start a new topic, so I thought I'd add to this one for those who are interested. These are my old Star Trek VHS tapes. I'm happy I still have them. I have everything from the original series to Voyager and everything in between. I could have sworn I recorded Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (my favorite Star Trek movie!), but I guess the tape broke or I only thought I recorded it.

Judging by the receipt, I bought the collectors edition TNG tape for a $1.95 when I was 14 years old! The receipt was a cool find!

And, just for the record, I might post these photos to the subreddit for VHS fans/collectors. Meaning, I didn't steal someone else's photos and someone didn't steal mine.
