Reminder about clock change

For most of us, in case anyone has forgotten, last night was when the clocks changed for the winter. Most clocks change by themselves now, but one that has to be done manually is the one inside this forum. If you want correct post times to display, look for your user control panel.

There's a story about a Native American elder having Daylight Savings Time explained to him. After a moment's thought, he replied "Only the White Man would cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it on the bottom, and claim he'd made the blanket longer."

Its acute story but a tad misleading about DST. Keep in mind that DST dates back to the 18th century (Benjamin Franklin). Its purpose was to make better use of the daylight hours, not to get more of them.
