A Disappointing Trek

Postby kham » Mon Nov 07, 2016 12:14 pm

A DISAPPOINTING “TREK:” The failure of “Star Trek Beyond,” and Paramount’s Botched Opportunity with Trek’s 50th Anniversary

From Steve Hancock. Pretty much covers it. And, also dead-on as I predicted: the Para-retards paid no attention to the fans, and gosh o golly, shitting all over Axanar, and fucking LYING outright by JJ fuckwit and that other asshole Lin just doubled down on stupid. And the case DOES go on, and what's coming out is not flattering , to put it mildly, to Para-retards and CBS.

Photon torpedoes from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. It was actually the best of three new JJ Trek movies, but that's not saying a whole hell of a lot.

If you're looking for sci-fi informed by this century the recent 'The Expanse' offering on Netflix hasn't been too bad.
It lacks the passion of older-school sci-fi however the story has been pretty decent.

Waiting for S2 with anticipation. Thats what makes it so good; there is some science-y stuff, but just about everything else (spaceflight, no artificial gravity, the nasty politics) is dead on. It's what made B5 interesting, not the CG stuff. Give us a story , and the cool factor takes care of itself.
