First Hard Cider Ferment--Success!

Postby Mynock » Fri Dec 16, 2016 6:32 pm

We recently got a brewing supply shop in town, decided to finally try making my own adult beverages. Figured would start with something simple:

(3) Gallons of Sam's Club Apple Cider (Pasteurized but no preservatives)
(3) Cups of Sugar
(1) Pack of Nottingham Ale Yeast

Came out pretty good. Won't win any awards but definitely drinkable. Does need some flavor though, next batch I might try using brown sugar and adding a few cinnamon sticks.

The swing-tops are a little more expensive initially but I think they win in the end. Not needing a crimping tool or to buy bottle caps is nice. And yea they do look super classy.
