Because he makes money for his employer. If this show didn't make money, he would not be doing it. Haven't you noticed from the "behind the scenes" how much money was invested into this?
QuicksandMania wrote:What makes Fifi Abdou such a target? Is she that desperate for money and publicity?
Certainly she is. With one minor correction - she is not a "target", she is an actress playing her role.

Point conceded for its utter simplicity, elegance, and essence.

Only a huge outrage expressed as negative market feedback through lost advertising and ratings will stop this.

I am not holding my breath, especially since the guests seem to be expecting the prank though perhaps not to the extreme it was actually executed.

The trend since the show started has been toward progressively more elaborate, costly, and shocking stunts each season.

I wonder what 2018 will bring ... perhaps global nuclear apocalypse?

The host's "big reveal" could be a projection of his face onto a mushroom cloud while he says his trademark line, "So sorry, I am a bad person, you have been pranked!"

Yes, but don't expect it to happen. People like prank shows.

Don't get me wrong. In contrast to what you could suppose I don't like prank shows. As well as pranks in movies. I can say, I hate them. No, I was not a victim of pranks in the past, and I don't know why it is so.

Anyway, there are many different prank shows, from some harmless ones to pretty cruel by the scenario. However, in vast majority of such shows people do know what is going on from the very start. If the victims are supposed to be 'ordinary people', they are most likely unemployed actors making some money and hoping for being noticed. If the victims are celebrities, and the scenario involves some potentially hazardous things, it is totally obvious that they know everything from the very beginning. Why do they take part in the show, is another question. In some (or many) cases the fee is so high that they can't refuse.

The guest (and 'victim') of the 7th episode of this show was Shah Rukh Khan, actor and director, the "King of Bollywood". Could be, he was interested in how the realistic quicksand pit is set up, how it works, how the 'sinking scene' is seen from the actor's point of view, and how it will look on the screen after editing. Who knows, maybe he got some experience that he will use in his future movies.

I know this is prob a long shot but have any of the entrepeneurial quicksand vid producers here considered getting in touch with whoever made that massive desert quicksand pit to see if it could be used for making their own vids before they fill it in again? I suppose they have to, just in case people fall in? Seems a real shame after all that effort and after people's comments here cos the people falling in aren't to their taste or they don't like the host (cos I think he's really amazing and different! ) or whatever...
Oh tosh! Tanya retorted, quicksand churning,
Round her knees, then thighs, then oh dear!
It got intimate with her hips and her panties,
And squished rather funnily up her rear!

For myself I don't think the multiple international airfares that would be required would even close to practical but if someone already on the ground there has anything to propose they are welcome to get in touch.

Although it's been a while since I was last in Egypt (1985) I'd love to return. I'm with Fred though regarding the practicality of such an operation. I'm pretty sure we could replicate something as good or better here for the expense involved.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

I have been to Egypt twice. Once was in July. A very funny, to me, incident was when my driver told me it was something like 108 degrees, saying it like it was something I would find intolerable. I not have the heart to tell him that with the humidity a 100 degree day in Louisiana was MUCH worse.

I have not watched any of the scenes mentioned here (due to data cap issues) but from what people have said I imagine the "pit" must be some sort of lined hole filled with water and something that floats, such as cork. If that is what it is, I do know where such a thing could be constructed. What would be needed is about 2 to 3 days work for a back hoe and operator, probably about 5 truckloads of fill dirt to supplement that removed from a hole by the back hoe, and about 10,000.00 worth of cork. Depending on the design the amount of cork might be cut in half but undertaking the project on the assumption that would work out would be pretty risky. Its not something I am going to undertake but if anyone here is qualified to run the back hoe and wants to come and dig the hole I would allow it next fall. I'm not holding my breath expecting a call however.

I too was here in July and had the same experience. Compared to July in Tennessee it was completely tolerable because it's so freaking dry. After a while though you began to find these patches of dried up salt on your skin and got really, really, thirsty. Returned with a great tan of a hue I've been unable to replicate. I might have made it as an Arab.

I can't call any names but there is a fetish model among us with excellent breath holding skills who speaks Arabic and until recently kept an apartment in Cairo. We have some talent available.

If you want a "Behind the scenes" video detailing how they constructed the pit , Here is my present to you ;)

http://www.mediafire.com/file/6vupb59aa ... its%29.mp4

And an Info for clarification , The program is from mixed countries , The program itself , The Cast , most victims and most target audience are Egyptians but the producer channel is from KSA and the channel airing it is the "Egyptian Version" of this channel and the location of the filming is from Abu Dhabi in UAE although Egypt has a lot of real quicksand areas in the desert so a fake one won't look out of place at all but they chose to make it in Abu Dhabi

I will look at the link some time after midnight tonight, my time, when my internet connection is unmetered. Thanks, this should be interesting.

Well how about seeing if there are any quicksand fans in those countries if going there isn't practical? What about Ramaz himself? He might be a closet fan? Plus he's got money and the quicksand! :?
