I briefly scanned the comments but STILL could not explain the Prime Minister or his public relations people selecting "Darth Vader's Theme" for his stage exit following his very lengthy speech:

WTF?

I suspect there is a cultural disconnect here about meanings of film music themes between Hollywood and Bollywood!

The closest explanation I could find was his quip, "May the Force be with you!" during a 2014 speech.

I want to avoid political controversy, so just a cultural explanation will suffice.

Believer it or not there are people out there who have never seen Star Wars. Somebody said "Hey this sounds good lets use this!" without having a clue about where it was from or the context.
