Re: RAIN RAIN GO AWAY
Opportunities are coming up soon and nature has been pretty nice to us around here. Hope it stays that way for a while yet.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Re: RAIN RAIN GO AWAY
It depends....
Dry periods do expose good mud and it has a better (thicker) consistency, that's true.
Wet weather keeps people at home and creates messy and swampy opportunities you did not expect (like the danger of sinking almost everywhere in a Bog)

I prefer my spot after a good dry spell. It has great consistency at this time.
It's very sloppy like gravy after heavy rain and not much fun at all if it's not under a couple of feet of water by then.

Re: RAIN RAIN GO AWAY
Around here, over the past couple of months, it has been mostly hot and dry, with any rain showers hardly dampening the ground. It has resulted in multiple forest fires here in BC, communities evacuated, but recently people are able to return to some communities, and it won't be long before the rest of the evacuations will end, unless fires flare up again or new ones start around communities. On the brighter side, all this dry weather has been dropping water levels, which means more and more mud exposed, and getting progressively thicker!
It could be like 2009 all over again!
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

Re: RAIN RAIN GO AWAY
I've noticed how rainy it's been too. The river & lake I usually go to has been higher, but that has actually been a good thing in a sense, as when the water in the flood plain drops, it leaves a few inches of sticky mud everywhere! (Last year is was all pretty dry and I had to head to the banks for the best mud.)
