Still no decision as to repair in place, or come back to States

Not buffing that out. Can they even fix that much structural damage without leaving the hull compromised?

We didn't hear a word about this in Merry Old; could someone enlighten me?

It's sounding more and more like it was beer thirty on the bridge and nobody thought to bring a designated driver. Seriously, nobody, on the fully staffed (I'm assuming fully staffed) bridge of a USN Destroyer, equipped with radar systems that can spot a seagull masturbating a 1,000 miles away, NOBODY noticed that this giant fucking boat was coming right at them......really? REALLY!!?!?!?

Some of the RUMINT I am hearing is unverified, so I will not repeat it, even here
But it's falling in the jesusfuckingchrist category
They seem to be making some attempt at spin based on "well, they were only using the civilian model nav radar!" So there!

.....
I wish I could meet that speaker face to face. So I can beat them do death with my bare hands
Just for the un-educated, I shall translate, as someone once said: That is a complete load of bullshit
Over 20 years ago, we were using radars , in the commercial marine industry, that were capable of multiple tracking and plotting of targets on any range scale. And smart enough to show the plot as you switch scales. Now, I can imagine they are at least as good now. And , there's still manual plotting.
No Sale
This, is Gonna Be about as BAD as I imagined it could be
