As discussed in the Sesame Street qs scene thread... here is a pretty good version of the old silent film. :D

Did anyone notice that as she pulls herself out and climbs up, it's actually run backwards and she's lowering herself in?
Oh tosh! Tanya retorted, quicksand churning,
Round her knees, then thighs, then oh dear!
It got intimate with her hips and her panties,
And squished rather funnily up her rear!

I thought there was something odd going on but that it was just the old cranky look of those films. The real clue is something falling upwards past her!

She shoots the branch to make it fall down, but it's still strong enough for her to pull on?

I've never tried taking a shot while in the mud or swimming. Given typical performance with most handguns I have the feeling I'd be greatly challenged to hit that vine under such circumstances. The most fantastic thing about this scene shouldn't be the quicksand but what an incredible marksman she is.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Well, we ARE talking about the days when a good guy could shoot from the hip and knock your gun clean out of your hand without drawing so much as a drop of blood...Good 'ol Hollywood skills...
