Nancy Drew scene in book

Someone here mentioned there was a quicksand scene in one of the books so I bought a cheap copy to share it

Nancy Drew was the most disappointing TV scene ever when I was a kid.
Beautiful Girl in Boots. The sidekick suggests that a car that went missing after going down a ravine - may have sunk in quicksand.

Thinking about it, it is such a nice set up for one of our scenes... you could even use the same dialogue... as Nancy goes down convinced there isn't quicksand down there, walking defiantly upon the damp sand... jumps up an down a few times... then BLOOP! Down she goes.

Then it is up to her friend to rescue her... or get stuck in the process.

Its 10 years later. Nancy, now returns to the spot, knowing there really is quicksand there and having fantasized for years about it, explores around and finally gets stuck. She has a good time for a while but then gets frightened. She is finally rescued by a guy with an American accent, western boots, and a black mask over his eyes. She is embarrassed, but more about being naked than getting stuck. He escorts her out of the gully, tells her not to do it again. Then he goes into a large, blue, wooden box, which then vanishes. Nancy immediately checks into the psychiatric hospital.
