Just saw the Legion series, Season 2 trailer. It has a brief scene where Rachel Keller quickly sinks all the way under in some black substance. It can be found here and starts at 1:10.

It looks like a dream or vision sequence to me.

I will be surprised if it's part of the actual story plot. (I'm a pessimist. lol)
