This scene has been discussed on and off since I first found the genre on the internet in '95. Best we can figure it was shot and ended up on the cutting room floor in the interest of keeping the episode short enough. Producer/Director Irwin Allen turned to quicksand as a plot device at least once or twice in most of his series so it's probably true but we'll never see it. This saddens me greatly because Deanna Lund as a childhood hottie for me. :(
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

There was a scene in Deadly Lodestone where Dan is trying to find a safe spot to hide out in a swamp when he finds quicksand and sinks to his chest (and is subsequently menaced by a giant tarantula). There's also a scene where the dog Chipper is briefly in quicksand before being rescued by a giant, but aside from the Manhunt episode, that's about it for quicksand in LotG.

If someone here has the drive they might want to try asking her if there was ever a scene. I understand she is still alive and active.

Deanna Lund: In “The Graveyard of Fools” episode our characters were trapped in quicksand and Kurt was goosing me under this guck we were in. I remember yelling, ‘Who do you have to fuck to get out of this show?!!’

Her comment proved ironic, since that was one of the last episodes filmed before the series was canceled.

I browsed through the on-line reviews for the LOTG DVD box set to see if the bonus features included unused scenes, but nothing was mentioned.

Nuts.

I haven't located that one either. The only episode I found with a giant handling the tiny dog just picked it off solid ground.

Land of the Giants had tons of quicksand opportunities with 2 beautiful women which were wasted. :(
