Hello everyone! I just wanted to put this out there.
Two years ago, I visited a local Peat Bog and entered with my Boot Foot Chest Waders. Needless to say, I got Myself FIRMLY Stuck.
Pulling myself out took unbelievable amounts strain, I had to keep extracting myself because I was 500 feet from shore and kept getting Stuck.
What am I on about? A few days, weeks, Months afterwards, my lower back was absolutely KILLING me. I ended up with a Herniated disc in my back from the Strain the Mud took on my back.
I know this Fetish is exciting and exhilarating, but do, please be EXTREMELY careful when going out to purposely sink and get Stuck as I did. It doesn't take a lot to throw out your back, neck deep in Mud.
I'm still in recovery, but on the mend. I just wouldn't wish this on anyone here.
Stay muddy and have fun.

Re: Injury from extraction.
Never experienced something similar so far. I just sometimes have sore muscles all over my body from lots and lots of pulling. Another thing is serious pressure on my chest when I'm really sunk deep in thick stuff but thats not a real problem when I'm out of the mud again.
I hope that experience will not prohibit you from going again.

That really sucks, hope you're healed up soon. The trick is to not pull against the suction, if you just lean back and wiggle your own natural buoyancy will do the work for you. Gotta be patient getting out of the thick stuff, it can take a while.

This is a very important advice. Depending on the situation you maybe have to lean forward instead of backward and work with your legs to get into a more easy position to get out. Either way, you have to try to get into a more horizontal position to free your legs (or at least to dig them out more easily) and perhaps to "roll" with your body onto firmer ground.
All those folks we know from the news never seem to do that and try to lift themselfs up in some magical way and that is not working for obvious reasons

The clay I go sinking in is beyond tenacious. My limbs would probably dislocate from the force that would be needed to pull me out of there lol.

I was aware about leaning back and getting out from there, but the Mud was 0°C or freezing. It was a 2 mile walk back to civilization, I didn't want to risk Hypothermia if I where to lean back and get myself sopping wet. The plus side to this was Warm and dry but muddy Waders walking home, but a sore back.
Definitely a poorly planned outing, But the Mud did feel amazing.
I will definitely be back out there when I'm Healed, but no more straining.

You can always wear an additional layer of raingear above your waders. When the jacket is small enough you don't even need a belt or some kind of duct-tape to make it mud-proof. Add some shoulder-length long gloves and you are as near to a drysuit as you can get.
I do regulary sink chindeep (or deeper
In case you need more specific clothing-suggestions feel free to ask.

Just curious - Could you add your age and maybe discuss how you feel about your state of fitness?
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Owwwww!
From one herniated sinker to another, you have my empathy and sincere wishes for a full recovery.
It was actually a cheap office chair that damaged me, not a mudpit. I had one of those jobs that believed that people should literally live in the office. The injury effectively put an end to my video career, although I sank recreationally for one more year. I had one real easy mudpit that I knew very well and that was the one I used.
Take care, be careful, and get well!

This is one of the major turn on points for me when reading fiction. Due to my autism, pressure feels good. I used to think that it made me feel good both normally and sexually, but pondering on it, I've learned that I get turned on by being helpless. I get autistic "feel good" feelings from being tightly bound, whether it's from quicksand, a snake/naga coiling me, my own mind due to being hypnotized, or literal bondage. Specifically, I get turned on when I'm trapped and helpless to the whims of others, which is why I probably have a tolerance for if my future partner wants to nibble at me. I would be fine with gnawing, but not piercing the skin.
Anyways, another thing that arouses me is when the more I struggle, the deeper I sink/the tighter it gets/the more bound I get/the more trapped I get/the tighter the pressure gets.
As for the topic at hand, that really sucks when you get injured from your fetish. I'll be sure to keep that in mind when I go mudding, seeing as I'm injured/sick enough as it is. I'll be sure to focus on slow pressure rather than quick and painful escapes.
I recently was exploring new ponds, and found the underwater mud there was worse than the places I knew, and I swallowed a sip of water and had a sore throats yesterday. Luckily, it's gotten somewhat better, I just hope my immune system can take care of it. I'll just keep to the pond I know for now, I suppose, that's a little bit more public and thus a lot more disturbed, flowing, and safer. Still wish I had real quicksand mud rather than underwater lake bottom sediment.
Good luck to you all while sinking!
