We had a lot of common interests and talked back and forth a lot about everything from Star Wars to firearms to the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic.

SHIT!
Another good friend lost. Kham and Purple Monkey were both always so supportive of my efforts. I could always count on them to cheer me on and keep my spirits up.

Well said.
I got a chance to meet Ken when I travelled to Arkansas to crew on a Studio 588 shoot. He was just as jovial in person as he was on the phone.
I have always been fascinated by Great Lakes Shipping, so it was extra pleasurable to know him. This is sad.
Take care of yourselves guys. It's hard, but it's worth it.

I actually noticed that they stopped posting since they posted very often in off topic and other places. Guess I know now why x.x Rest in peace.

That's where I met him in person. He was friendly and nice. I thought the stuff he posted about ships here was interesting. Since he worked on one, I knew that he knew his stuff on that.
I am sorry to hear this. It's been a hard year for our community!

He was indeed nice, in person.
I fully realize that a lot of folks here got a different impression. Ken was definitely one of those guys that had a chip on his keyboard, so to speak. And honestly, I didn't appreciate his attitude at times. But that's how it is with online stuff. You just can't take it too seriously. But again, Ken was a good guy for real, and I'm sure his shipmates and family and friends (here and elsewhere) will miss him.

Indeed it has.
