I hadn't shaken hands with Ken since 2012 but he and I had a lot of similar interests and beliefs so we exchanged messages regularly. He was a large man who could be pretty cavalier about his health and he was at that age where we all have to begin listening to nature no matter we want to or not. Several of us here had noticed his absence and went looking for him. We finally got in contact and he and I were discussing hockey when I got around to inquiring about his health. His last words to me were classic Ken -

...but it hasnt been the first time, so just have to suck it up.

Ken certainly had some issues but he was a big friendly guy who contributed substantially both behind the scenes and publicly to our little group here. Like quite a few others this place bears his mark. It was good to have him around.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Oh no, not another one... :( :(
Sometimes it really sucks watching the years roll by and seeing friends and icons pass on one by one.
I never knew Ken or talked with him directly but he could certainly be counted on for some...entertaining...commentary in the off-topic section. I didn't always agree with some of the things he posted but he was always fun to read. And he did seem like a genuinely friendly sort. I would have liked to have known him.
Calm seas, friend. Your presence will be missed.

EDIT: Just an extra little thought here... Seems like we should give his avatar a little 'In Memory' or 'Always Remembered' tribute like was done with PM2K. He certainly deserved one. Just a thought...

I just looked at PM2K's profile. I see that...and I like it.

This came as a complete shock! :( I can't believe that we lost another prominent member of our community! :( I never had the chance to meet him in person, but a number of years back, an opportunity came close. He had been interested in becoming a producer, and was interested in bringing some models to my neck of the woods. But, peoples' schedules were not able to line up, and nothing happened. :( He will be missed greatly by all. :(
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

He truly was an interesting guy. I always enjoyed seeing the photos he took as a crewman for 588. It’s unfortunate he had so many health issues. I recall he retired only a few years ago.

That is so sad to hear. I'd been away from the forums due to computer issues and was wondering where he was and why he wasn't posting. I'd hoped this wasn't why.

May he Rest in Peace.

A Hickock45 video in his honor:
