We all felt some disappointments with quicksand scenes in tv or movies over the years; like they got the quicksand right, but wrong character or vice versa. What pit and character who had sunk in quicksand would you put together?

Example: Ayak (When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth) sinking in the quicksand from The Neverending Story.

Hehe, you pretty much nailed it right there.

Or, Ayak in the quicksand from Crusoe. It's hard to beat Ayak for a scene that ultimately comes up short (waaaaayy too fast).

Same thing with Stapleton's wife in the Hammer Hound of the Baskervilles. Put her in the Neverending swamp, holding up that dress.....

This would be a mix of a movie with a quicksand scene and one that should have had one but didn't:
Three women from a prison such as that in Big Bird Cage break out and steal a broken down old car. One of the women is injured and lies in the back. They travel along a barely-there track through the jungle. Then they do the scene from Guns of Darkness except at least two of them go under.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that of the only two known “mainstream” scenes to feature a girl sinking naked (“The Witchmaker” and “Joy in Hong Kong”) both take place in nothing more than muddy water? I mean really?! We finally get a girl naked in quicksand on TV/film and she just wallows in mud and calls it sinking?!?!?!?!?!

Now, imagine either of those girls, in either of those scenarios, but instead sinking all the way down in the pits from “Guns of Darkness”, “Ice Cold in Alex”, or “Sparrows”? Maybe even struggling a bit in that sand bog from “Hidalgo”. Why can’t we have nice things like that?!

For that matter, I’d take just about any naked chick in that Ice Cold quicksand. Wouldn’t you?
