But now. How do you catch a polar bear? (Besides very carefully)

Classic...But being in California I only know how to catch Grizzly Bears. I hear the solution is similar:
1. Go into the forest and dig a deep, round hole in the ground 8 feet x 8 feet.
2. Burn some redwood branches to ash, let cool and then fill the hole 6 inches deep with it to act as a cushion.
3. Line the top edge of the hole with freshly-caught salmon. The fish MUST be fresh.
4. Set up a hunter's tree platform 40-50 feet away and hide in it. Be totally quiet!
5. Wait for a bear to smell the fish and approach. It may take a few hours.
6. When he starts to eat the fish and is distracted, quietly climb down, sneak up behind him and kick him in the ash hole!
