Probally there is another explorer who managed to find another entrance and grabs her hand in the nick of time, this could or couldn'd be James Bond...:

These are all really great. I particularly appreciate the lighting in these images, the first few specifically. That's something that is really hard to do and sets the stage. Good lighting makes an image, and your use of light and shadows really sets a creepy and desperate tone. Nice job!

You're both wrong. At least for now.

Thank you! I really mostly used just one light source: the sun. Then I tried various angles to make it look good and only added a little bit of additional light where necessary. This approach worked surprisingly well expect for the previous 2 renders where I did not find a better angle.

Absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!
Loved this series! All that's missing is some bubbles on the mud's surface as our heroine finally succumbs!

The muddy hand print on the stone wall is a nice touch (especially since it was her last touch).

Nice grand finale as Lara slowly slips deeper into the dark depths of the mire. Showing her muddy staining of her fingers upon the wall where she tried to grip the surface is a nice touch.

Does it ALWAYS have to end poorly for the victim nowadays? Why can't we have her come out a muddy mess or at the very least have an option to decide her fate?

Well done with these Aiko! All of them are fantastic! Well posed, well lit, and with great textures and camera angles! Lara looks gorgeous, especially with the mud coverage. I love her expressions and her muscle definition is perfect. She looks strong without being overly bulky. The animated frame with the 'below the surface' shot was a nice touch also. Excellent rendering all around! Thank you very much for these!
How long did Tarzan watch before deciding to save Jill..?
