Actually, this clip is from the 1923 movie serial "Plunder", starring Pearl White

.
-->Note the photo at the bottom in the middle? I've seen this before.

Woof! Woof!
"What is it Lassie?
Woof! Bark! Woof!
Some girl sinking in quicksand again?
"WOOFWOOFWOOF!" (tail wagging..)
OK, lead me to her!"
WOOF! WOOFWOOF! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof Woof woof woof woof woof woof woof woof ... ... .. .. . . .

NOTE: The clip begins at the "cliff-hanger" ending of the preceding serial episode, as it includes a brief shot of our grey lady going completely under. VERY brief....don't blink.
Like all of these weekly silent-film serials, that scene doesn't actually happen in the next installment which begins right at the start of the QS scene, and runs much longer too.

this is the scene that first excited me seeing a damsel in quicksand, and in distress generally!

That's the same video I posted a link to. Except that your link drops one off into the movie around the 15:24 point, after the QS scene.

Nice find. I've been reading about this one for decades and never saw it before now. Just shows there's always one more out there. Thanks.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.
