Autumn Skirt 2009 (unfiltered version)

Postby Northerner » Tue Jan 05, 2010 10:50 pm

I bumped this ancient thread to post a slightly improved, un-filtered version of the color artwork. Hope you enjoy, it is more colorful and I thought it might look a little better than the version I released in 2010

Jennie's left leg was fully submerged in the sticky brown mud. She gasped at how deep it was, and her heart hammered in her chest. She wiggled her leg experimentally, producing crude sucking and burping noises, but no perceivable movement of her leg.

She smiled, and continued to work her muscles. It was incredibly difficult to get leverage with which she could take another step. She felt inexplicable, primal arousal building within her, as the ooze sucked tenaciously on the entire length of her leg, all the way from her ankles to her thigh...

Very nice yet again!

What stands out with this pic is the gradated blurring/smudging you did on the lower half. While it is very unique (and cool), what motion/action/setting are you going for?

I have attached the original line-art for this picture. You can see that the left leg in the line-art became her right leg in the final piece. I liked my pencil version, but I realized I wanted one of her legs to be deeply buried in the mud, rather than have her just sitting near the surface, as in the original sketch (where's the fun in that?). This required that I rework some other stuff like her skirt and maybe her belt. Actually I don't remember what all I modified digitally, but it turned out ok this time, instead of being an ugly hatchet job, which is what usually happens.

The filter I used was called Zoom Blur. I drew & colored this a few months ago (in autumn 2009) and was going to fix up some of the lines, mostly her left hand. But time was passing, and tonight I just decided I needed to post something. So the purpose of the blur is to distract from some shoddy line art, while drawing attention to her face. Also I guess it adds a general sense of motion to the picture. I also rotated the picture some to make it more unstable / exciting looking.

Exactly!
There’s so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

Wow! Forget the quicksand (if you can) this is great art. I really like the style.

Uh... I thought editing the thread would bump it, but apparently I have to make an actual post. Bump..!
