Scene Alert; The 100

Postby rhinodynamo » Tue May 28, 2019 10:39 pm

Tonight I saw a scene on CW’s show “The 100”. I didn’t watch the whole thing, just enough to know there were two women stuck in an unusual looking quicksand-like substance. Just thought I’d pass it along.

I watched the episode. The quicksand was clear water jelly beads covered with leaves, which became exposed when the two women became trapped. Octavia and Diyoza were chasing a man (Xavier) through the woods, hoping he would lead them to someone they wanted to kill. But, he led them across a patch of quicksand, with the two women getting stuck. It undulated quite nicely. Diyoza stayed calm while Octavia struggled more, sinking faster, with Xavier watching them while hidden, until Diyoza tossed her gun away, at which point he came out, and wanted information. But, you didn't see them actually sinking. They were just at different deeper levels whenever it cut back to the scene through the episode. At the end, when Octavia was neck deep and Diyoza was chest deep, Xavier threw them a rope for them to save themselves and run because of an incoming temporal flare. Octavia was too stuck, so Diyoza pulled herself out and ran to safety. The quicksand closed over Octavia's face just as the temporal flare hit (I think she intentionally went under to shelter herself from the flare). When Diyoza returned, the surface was frozen, and she broke through the ice, and pulled out and revived Octavia.

Thank you for the details. Maybe we can find it somewhere.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

I forgot to mention that there was some visible sinking of several inches when they first stepped in, showing the leaves giving way, and showing the top of one of their feet vanish, while the other's feet were already hidden by the leaves. There were lots of nice sound effects as well. Picture in your mind Studio 588's Gallium Polykryptonite pit in an outdoor wooded location covered with a few inches of leaves.

I have the full episode in MKV format but I don't have the way to edit the scene and share it.
