Why does this Lamborghini have a bow tie on it?

I saw some other news about this earlier today. I like it. Not that I would go there though. Kinda been there already. Priorities change.

I don't need a muscle car. I just need reliable wheels. Oh, but it does have to be red.

My initial response is negative. The Corvette traditionally is a front engine, rear drive car and it ALWAYS offers a manual option. I love shifting my own gears so that alone makes me turn up my nose to this. It's an amazing car with good looks and awesome performance for 60k, but it's just not a Corvette.

Amen. I'm just hoping other manufacturers don't follow suit. There are a few cars on my shortlist that I want to get in a 6SPD (GTI, Golf R, etc)... and whilst VWs double-clutch transmissions are great, they're not as fun...

Love the car...wish they released it under a different name. This could have been Chevy's GT-40.

Front engine/ rear-wheel-drive 'Vettes forever. 8-)

It could have been a one off special, called the Duntov, or the Mitchell. Chevrolet screwed up...

I actually kind of dig it. A lot of people freaked out too when they stopped the flip lights. But No manual, that hurts. Both of my cars are 6 speed. Manual seems to be going out, but I'll hold on to mine forever.

I've noticed this too, especially with German brands. I'm really hoping VW continues to have a manual option when I'm ready to get a GTI or better yet, a Golf R as my "fun" car.

Regardless of what you think of the car as a whole there are two reasons from the switch to automatic transmission -

Computers shift better than people.
Nobody under age 40 knows how to operate a manual transmission anymore.

It's the same reasons the Army has auto transmissions on virtually all vehicles now. You want a generation of people who can't work a rotary dial telephone to shift for themselves? Good luck.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.
