Black & White Comic - F grim - Wally Wood artist

Postby MichaelL_Photo » Mon May 25, 2020 2:49 pm

Hi Everyone,

When I was a teenager, I came across this quicksand scene featuring a female sinking to her doom in a bog. I recently found out that this was by the artist, Wally Wood (Wallace Wood), done in Woodward Gazette #2 in 1978 and a version in the 1984 magazine, either issue #1 or #2.

One of the first quicksand comics I had ever seen - been looking for it for some years and just found it. Enjoy.

Here's the first version of this comic I ever saw on Kaol's old site. It's as awesome now as it was then! :D

That's really all there is to see. The following pages has the little guy slicing up all the bad guys.

But indeed, a very nice 'scene'. Nice to be reminded of it.

It was nice to see the lead-up to it to give the character at least a little depth.

It would seem that dialog was altered as well. I prefer the longer extended version ;) ("Can't catch worth shit!")

I remember there was a quicksand scene in the Artbook Dies Irae by Milo Manara as well... I've found the cover (shown) but my copy is buried somewhere...
