(Really) old Superman comic strip

I don't know if anyone has already posted this, but judging from Superman's very enthusiastic response to the sight of Lois Lane trapped and sinking in quicksand in this newspaper comic strip from 1939 (which response in the second panel could be taken in more than one way), we might conclude that from the beginning the Man of Steel had a thing for such a scenario... that, or the artists did. :D
