quicksand rescue observaition

Postby jagfiles » Sun Mar 06, 2022 4:53 pm

I been noticing in this clip from The Dukes of Hazzard episode "Coy Meets Girl" when Bobby Jo turns to get pulled out of the quicksand it looks like she's sitting down and her legs are stretched out at one point.

Oh yeah. After being surrounded by actual entries into bogs for many years you get to where you can tell everything about the "Hollywood" versions. It's barely more than wading pool deep and she's seated the entire time. You can tell there's not much there by the way she bends her knees when she first steps into it. After a while a big part of your pleasure in such things comes from being good at not noticing what's going on like that.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

You can see the front of her foot briefly poke above the surface to the right of her at the 33 second mark.

Never noticed her feet poking out like that.
This is the only scene I ever noticed someone actually sitting in it.
