Glad they were okay, but oh boy, would I love to see a video of that! Seven "bikini-clad" ladies in real quicksand peril, what a treat that would be!

I'd gladly pay for their rescue if I could get a good video of the whole drama (and if I had £10,000, in USD, adjusted for inflation, whatever that would be).

Interesting when the gals got themseves out they were like "What was the big deal we were sinking."

I doubt "rescue" is correct when they where just having fun in the mud. (Okay, they may have been unaware of the tide, but as I understand still did not call the FD by themselves).
More a reminder that we sinkers are better not be seen by the public. Someone could think we need help.... After that we have the embarrassment and have to pay the service, too.

That happened once, many years ago, when one of our number actually had a passing freight train stop and reverse to check on them.

I'm local to the Bristol Channel area (near to where the article mentioned), and it's always hilarious when 'tourists' visit the area and get themselves and/or their vehicles stuck in the mud. Really expensive for the rescue services, of course.

Obviously folks living in this area know enough not to be stupid / careless!

And from a sinking and mudding perspective, the temptation is there but the whole area is diligently scrutinised to ensure safety... so I haven't tried anything myself (sadly)

Probably a coast guard member did it. I'm unsure if they had really just gone in themselves on purpose or on accident. I guess they were wearing bikinis after all, maybe?

True it started out to be a rescue but when help arrived everyone did manage to get themselves out. True the article did have a snapshot of some of the girls so more than likely some beach goers managed to get it on their cel phones

No…if you had $10,000 U.S dollars (adjusted for inflation), you would STILL ONLY HAVE $10,000. Now, what that would be in English Pounds I haven’t got a clue, but it would still be $10,000 in US dollars until I either spent some of it or someone snuck up behind me and knocked me out…so they could steal all my money.
