Nice. Thanks.
It's easy to forget he was left-handed. As the story goes, his silhouette was reversed for the NBA logo. Then again, maybe not.

Giants legend Willie Mays dies at 93

Willie Mays, the iconic Hall of Fame center fielder who is known as the greatest all-around baseball player of all time, died Tuesday, the San Francisco Giants announced. He was 93 years old.
Mays, nicknamed “The Say Hey Kid,” had a professional baseball career that spanned four decades, beginning with the Negro Leagues in the late 1940s and ending with the New York Mets in 1972. In between, he spent 21 years with the New York Giants, who would later move to San Francisco.

Re: To those no longer with us....
I only saw the tail end of Willie Mays’s career, including his final stint with the Mets (I grew up in NY area). Even then, he could still play at a major-league level, although not at the great level of earlier times. I remember him being interviewed after a game-winning infield hit (bounced high off home plate; it was a key game in the Mets making the playoffs that year). The reporter, somewhat foolishly, asked Willie if this was one of the greatest thrills of his career. Always polite, he smiled and said no, that hitting 4 home runs in a game was a little more thrilling than an infield hit - it made me laugh. Perhaps the best all-around player ever in the game.

I'll always remember him for his famous deep outfield over-the-shoulder catch followed by a massive throw to second, preventing more base running.
