but OK, i'm reasonable... 9 inches is enough
but the second of the un-captioned damsels? so much more to go!!

Depends! We don't know how thick that mud is below that thin layer of water. Thick and really heavy mud will tightly press against the chest and hinder breathing. I have no idea if boobs can help as cushions, though![]()

Nice attire! I wonder why there are so few cave-explorers wearing glossy patent-leather thighboots

If the mud was thick enough to restrict breathing significantly I'd guess that it would be difficult to get that deep and impossible to escape unaided. As to boobs being a cushion, I think it would depend on whether they were yours or not!

Oh wait, i've experienced this quite enough at that bog i do frequent and did post about. It becomes a real thing when there are different layers of mud like at that place. The bog surrounds a small lake that was once larger in ancient times. There's about a foot or two of thicker mud that even supports small trees on top of a couple feet of more sloppy mud that is fed with water from the rest of the lake (wild guess, i don't know this for sure). Deep down is the old lakebed with again thick, clingy black mud of depths unknown....
When sinking at some new spot for the first time it's that "top-layer" that presses against the chest. Getting out alone is not impossible (obviously) because the thick layer gives some leverage.
But when sinking again and again at the same spot the mud surrounding me (or her) will soften of course and turn into that neat, little trap i'm describing in my signature or see at my avatar
.
Regarding your second sentence: Oh the imagination! Sure a thing to dream about!

(homage to the TV show Seinfeld)
just because someone said the mud wasn't going to get deeper--- best to see for yourself
and i agree about there being NO reason to fasten those buttons
actually i'm imagining another TV character, April O'Neil hoping the Turtles can find her in time
