Also where were you when it happened and what were you doing.

What is the most stuck you have ever been in mud or quicksand and how long did it take for you to get unstuck.

Up to my neck, then I can't sink anymore. The buoyancy was too strong to sink deeper than your chest. And it took me about 10 minutes to get out. That was so easy.

30 minutes or possibly a little longer. I got stuck in mud in a wooded area near an apartment Complex I used to live in many years ago. It was dark and my eyes had just adjusted to the dark. I managed to get about mid thigh depth but when I decided I should get out. I couldn’t. I’m not entirely sure why but the mud hard compacted (settled?) around my calves and had an iron grip on me. I wasn’t scared but it was very, very difficult. For about twenty five minutes, I COULDNT MOVE! I tried all the tricks, sitting back, relaxing, trying to lean forward and pull one leg out. It took a solid half hour before I was able to make any progress. I left a shoe behind but I finally got out. Good thing too because I was a good distance from where anyone could hear me.

Almost an hour, and was chin deep.
And quite alone at the time.
Estuarine mud that is tidal is not to be taken lightly.
Suffice to say, I survived.
Or did I?
So yes, as much as the myth of quicksand may be that?
Drowning isn't a myth, and we are all ten minutes away from a slow and patient wait for a respawn.
