Don't worry, be a nit-picker as much as you want, it's all useful information to me. Anyway, I'm one of the most pedantic people I know. I struggle to leave a mistake unremarked or uncorrected. This morning I deleted an image from yesterday's "Off the beaten track posting", removed an extraneous arm from the original and reposted it. That was after 100 plus people had viewed the thread!

I used to be a bit squeamish about blood as well. One day one of my co-workers was recruiting new donors, I tried to evade the issue but she put my name down anyway and told me that if I didn't want to do it to just ignore the letters they sent. I ignored the first one hoping they'd give up, but then the second one arrived. I decided to go to the session to see how it worked and sat down at the back. It all seemed quite calm so I just watched for a while. Then there was a bit of a disturbance at the back of the hall when a woman fainted, that caught my attention. As my attention came back to the people booking donors in, one of the women was saying "Next" and looking at me, I glanced around and, indeed, I was next. I was very careful not to look for the first couple of sessions, but after that curiosity got the better of me and I found my squeamishness had gone. It may seem a strange thing but I came to enjoy those blood donor sessions, I was extremely busy at the time, working late etc. and these sessions were the best periods of relaxation I was getting. You just have to lay there, you can't do anything but relax. I fell asleep a couple of times, that caused a bit of panic. The other thing was that after the session, having lost about a half-litre, you tended to feel slightly euphoric and refreshed, it was a bit like a very mild buzz. Most people are surprised when I tell them this!

It's such a bright clear day, it's difficult to understand how anyone could mis-step and end up stuck in a bog! Unless, of course, it wasn't an accident, but that would be ridiculous!
