Redjak solved the logistical challenge of moving Tiana from the entrance of his secret lair to the nearby quicksand pool by rolling her over the level ground. With so many layers of bondage and padding wrapped and strapped around her she rolled like a log. When they reached the edge of the pool he attached a cable to her webbing, passed it over the limb of a tree that overhung the pool and hoisted her into the air.

He let her dangle over the greedy mud for a while before lowering her in. Tiana settled into the mire until she was waist deep and then began to sink slowly after that. Redjak disconnected the cable, cutting off her only chance of avoiding her fate. Now it was just a question of time. How long would it be before she went under?

Redjak sat back and waited.
